Acquisition

Acquiring footage is the most crucial step in any workflow. Without the right shots, the director and editor are powerless to assemble a quality product. The lighting, the angles, the sound, and the exposure are all critical to get right. Our selection of tools will vary depending on your needs, all you have to do is ask. We are resolution and frame-rate agnostic, selecting the appropriate choices depending on the goals. You bring us the concept, anything from a simple audition read in front of our green screen all the way up to a feature length documentary, and we will deliver exactly what you are looking for.

Capture & Edit

Whether you bring your own resources or we record them for you, our ingestion process is simple and streamlined. All of the footage is logged and transferred to one of our workstations. Mac, PC, HD, SD, HDMI, SDI, Component, Composite, Multiplexed, Compressed, Raw, etc., etc., we can handle it all. Our goal from the start is to transcode and organize any and all elements you may have to bring efficiency to the editing process. We work exclusively in a non-linear editing environment, with our go-to choice being Final Cut Pro, we also can cut in Premiere, Pyxis, & Media Composer. Regardless of whether the session is being run in Studio1 or Studio2, the director can watch on remote screens as we bring your story to life.

Post Production

Once the initial cut is made, we can go to work polishing the footage. We have a wide variety of software and plugins to create the perfect effect. This type of work runs the gamut of complication, but knowing which tools to use and when can really speed up production times. Let us know what you are looking for, we'd be happy to oblige. Color Timing

Color timing is an often overlooked portion of the post-production workflow. Tweaking color can bring an extra dimension to a project, giving a specific feel to the atmosphere of the production. Using specially designed software we can shape the colors until what is on the screen matches exactly what you had in mind. These adjustments can bring a cinematic feel to otherwise vanilla footage.

Encoding, Preview, & Deliverables

Upon completion, you are welcome to preview your final cut in our lounge on a large, color-calibrated TV with 7.1 THX certified surround sound!

Each project has its own specific needs. Whether a video is being made for the web or distribution by disc, we can handle it. The digital age has brought a virtual smorgasbord of encoders and file types, luckily we are here to help. Just let us know what you need and we can deliver. Auditions

If you need a place to read your auditions, we are here for you. We charge a flat rate of $40/hr to read lines, capture the footage, and do simple editing. The final files will be compressed and delivered to you or your agent.
